Antje Baumann is one of Germany´s leading arbitration practitioners. In 2018, she received the prestigious “Lawyer of the Year Award” from the German daily newspaper Handelsblatt/Best Lawyers. Being dual qualifiedasa lawyer in Germany and in the United States (New York), she has handled more than 80 arbitrations as counsel, chairman, and party-appointed arbitrator, interalia under the Rules of the ICC,
Antje started her career in the international arbitration practice of Fresh fieldsBruckhausDeringer. She now runs her own law firm, BAUMANN Resolving Disputes, in Hamburg. Antje holds a PhD from the University of Osnabrueck and a Master of Laws degree (LLM) from the University of California at Berkeley. She teaches arbitration and dispute resolution at the University of Osnabrueck and M&A disputes at Bucerius Law School, Hamburg.
Antje is particularly experienced in corporate disputes such as joint-ventureor Post M&A disputes as well as in disputes involving difficult technical issues, e.g. in connection with foundries, furnaces, shippropulsionortrains.
