Nicos served two terms as elected President of the Cyprus Bar Association (2000 to 2006). In 2012, he was appointed by the Council of Ministers as a non-executive member to the Board of the Cyprus Hydrocarbons State Company which was authorised at the time to oversee the import, liquefaction, transport and export of hydrocarbons. Nicos was appointed President of the Committee established for the Accountability of State Officers of the Republic from 2004 until 2010. He also served as a member of the Legal Council (1994-2006), the Lawyer’s Disciplinary Board (2000-2006), the Co-ordinating Body against Corruption, as head of the Cypriot Delegation to the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (2000-2006) and as President of the Union of Balkan Bar Associations (2004-2006).

Nicos was also a member of the Accountants’ Disciplinary Board (2003-2009) and in 2013 he was appointed as President of the First Instance Accountants’ Disciplinary Board.

Nicos has contributed articles for Greek and English language media and legal publications and has drafted a number of important pieces of legislation.

Arbitration Rules, Arbitrators Code of Conduct, Rules of Adjudication.
• Handling the structuring of and acting as legal advisor to semi-governmental organizations, public entities, private companies, banks, insurance companies etc., Drafting legislation for semi-governmental organizations, Acting as lawyer / legal advisor of the Cyprus Port Authority.
• Handling international transactions, mergers and acquisitions, transactional documentation, handling court proceedings on building and engineering law, employment law, competition law, commercial law, aviation, general insurance, marine insurance, litigation in major disputes in courts and arbitrations; Handling of administrative matters before the Administrative court. The Supreme Court of Cyprus and administrative bodies including the Commission for the Protection of Competition, and the Tenders Review Authority.
