Professional Biography
Me Béatrice Favarel, founding partner, since 1997
News:
In March 2016, she participated in a conference in London organized by the « Super Yacht Investor Show » called « There is only one sure thing in the Mediterranean : yachts and taxes), which was about tax issues in yachting and the questions linked to staff hiring on foreign flag Mega-Yachts. In July 2015, Béatrice was awarded Knighthood in the French National Maritime Order (Ordre du Mérite Maritime), for the 25 years of her professional life dedicated to seafarers. Maritime and arbitration law being intertwined, she has also been awarded the Certificate of Competence in Arbitration Law delivered by the French Bar Association (Conseil National des Barreaux).
Achievements:
In 2011, Béatrice won a supply bid launched by the ITER organization for the transport of the various components of the TOKAMAK nuclear reactor. At the end of 2012, following the bankruptcy of the Greek ship owner, Classic International Cruises, two of its ocean liners called « Princess Danae » and « Athena » did a « fatal » stop-over in Marseilles where they were immediately forced to disembark all passengers and couldn\'t depart because of various ship-arrests. In a few months Beatrice managed to have lifted over 20 ship-arrests obtained by creditors which had forced the two ships to a prolonged standstill on Marseilles Harbour\'s « quay of oblivion». While the refrigerated holds of the ships were filled with perishable goods, and the crew found itself literally abandoned, Béatrice got the ships to be freed after fierce negotiations. Thanks to her, and after a refit both ships lead a new life, under a new identity (Lise Boa and Azores), since they were bought by a Portugues ship owner : Portuscale Cruise. In 2014, she counseled the company IMS 700 for the settlement of the biggest yachts repair shipyard in the Mediterranean located on the former military base of Toulon-Saint-Mandrier. In 2015, Béatrice won against the French armament CMA-CGM and obtained compensation for the beneficiaries of a seaman who had died during the berthing manœuvre on a « giant of the seas », the Rigoletto container ship.

Overview
Particularity: Born with her feet in water, she leads battle against any kind of injustice that goes against her maritime consciousness, which is aimed at unsettling all prejudices in a world where women are often under-represented. Beatrice gives a lot of importance to transmission and to the training of young lawyers that she regularly welcomes in her firm. Béatrice works
