The Neutral Profession / Who Can Apply

Who can apply
for certification?

Certification is open to professionals from any discipline who practise or aspire to practise as neutrals. Ethics, integrity, and a commitment to impartiality are the core criteria — not a specific professional background.

The core criteria

It is not about your background.
It is about your commitment.

Certification is not limited to lawyers, mediators, or arbitrators. It is open to any professional who practises or aspires to practise as a neutral — across any jurisdiction, any sector, and any professional background.

The Independent Certification Board evaluates applicants on four dimensions: neutrality, ethics, competence, and integrity.

No payment is required at application. The Board assesses and confirms the appropriate tier based on your credentials.

The four evaluation criteria
  • Neutrality — demonstrated independence from the interests of any party
  • Ethics — professional standing and commitment to the Code of Ethical Conduct
  • Competence — relevant professional experience and ADR knowledge
  • Integrity — commitment to impartiality and continuous development

No payment required at any stage before approval. The Board evaluates within 5–7 working days.
